Amazon Alexa is a great virtual assistant, but the bad news is that one of its features is going to be discontinued this week. Amazon has announced that this week, from November 8, 2021, Amazon Alexa users will no longer have email access. That is, users will not be able to link their Gmail or Microsoft account to Alexa, although no other email service provider details are provided. It has been said that all accounts linked to Alexa will be automatically unlinked.
Amazon says that once the function is turned off, users will no longer be able to browse or manage their email. Amazon is also disabling email package tracking from retailers, but users will still be able to track Amazon delivery with Alex.
In a press release, Amazon announced that Alexander customers will no longer be able to access Gmail and Microsoft email accounts from November 8. The e-commerce giant did not mention any other email service providers. Users will not be able to browse or manage their emails using Voice Assistant.
Email routines and notifications will also be closed
Amazon added that support for email routines and email notifications is also being discontinued at Alexis. In addition, Voice Assistant will no longer support email package tracking for incoming packages from retailers outside of Amazon.
Users do not need to take any steps to change this Alexa functionality. Amazon has mentioned that if the user syncs the calendar to Alexa, it will continue to work.
Can be set in the voice of Amitabh Bachchan
In August this year, Amazon announced that users will be able to configure Amitabh Bachchan’s voice for Alex. Amazon India charges its customers Rs 149 per year to activate this feature.
Through Amazon Alexa, users can ask Amitabh Bachchan to play music, listen to the news, set alarms or get weather information.
