Digital Office, Mumbai. Telecom giants Jio and Google said on Friday that their much-anticipated affordable smartphone JioPhone will be available in stores from Next Diwali. The smartphone, which is made in India and designed jointly by both companies, will be available at an entry price of just Rs 1,999 and the rest will be paid through easy EMIs over 18 or 24 months.

The affordable smartphone can also be purchased without financing for just Rs 6,499. The smartphone will be available at Reliance Retail’s extensive network of JioMart Digital retail locations across the country.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, said, “I am delighted that the team at Google and Jio have successfully made this successful device available to Indian consumers in time for the festive season. These products are available in a timely manner to consumers despite the challenges of the global supply chain currently due to COVID epidemic.

Mukesh Ambani said, I have always been a firm believer in the power of the digital revolution to enrich, empower and empower the lives of 1.35 billion Indians. We built it by calling in the past. We are now re-enable it using a smartphone device.

The JioPhone Next is an affordable smartphone designed for India, said Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, driven by the belief that everyone in India should take advantage of the opportunities of the Internet.

To achieve this, our teams had to work together to solve complex engineering and design challenges. I’m excited to see how millions of people will use these tools to improve their lives and their communities.
