New Delhi. Tatiana Shishkova, an analyst at cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, has warned Android phone users on Twitter about the return of powerful Joker malware to the Google Play Store. Shishkova found that Joker malware was affecting at least 14 Android apps. Concerns about the Joker malware grew last year when it caused a virus in several apps.
Although Google had to take steps to protect users and remove those apps, the malware seems to have returned to the Google Play Store. Some of the apps that are victims of Joker malware are quite popular with over 50,000 installations, while Shishkova’s Red List also includes some less popular apps.
Joker malware will hurt you
Joker malware is a dangerous and popular malware. It allows users to subscribe to premium content without their knowledge. The virus enters popular apps in the Google Play Store through Joker malware and enters users’ phones while downloading apps. Joker malware enters the Google Play Store through minor changes to its code and bypasses Play Store security. It is not easily removed and is often reactivated.
It was first detected in 2017 and Google has been working hard for years to protect users from this Joker malware. It automatically clicks on the online ad and even accesses the secret OTP received for the transaction.
