Digital Office, Beijing. Smartphone maker OnePlus is working on a triple foldable phone that can be locked with an easy-to-use slider. According to a report by Gizmo China, a recently discovered patent claims that the foldable phone will come with three screens.
The patent document is believed to have been filed in China in 2020 and published in July 2021. It is now listed in the Global Patent Repository of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database.
According to the report, the device can be folded in various ways, giving more users the option to apply the device. OnePlus has also started recruiting testers for the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 closed beta update for OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and 8T.
This is a short term Closed Beta Test (CBT), in which participants will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Two hundred people will be invited with the 8T and 200 people will be invited with the OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro.
Participants also need to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with OnePlus to become a member of the Program. Also, OnePlus will be giving gifts to top performers, and since the company calls it a short-term closed beta project, we can expect the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and 8T to announce the open beta program soon.
